Stewart C Baker (any pronouns) is an academic librarian and author of speculative fiction, poetry, and interactive fiction. The author of The Butterfly Disjunct: And Other Stories, and lead writer for the Nebula-award-winning game A Death in Hyperspace, Stewart’s fiction and poetry has appeared in Analog, Asimov’s, Fantasy, Flash Fiction Online, Lightspeed, Nature and various other places.
Stewart was born in England, has lived in South Carolina, Japan, and Los Angeles, and now lives with family within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya in western Oregon.

More About Me
In addition to my writing, I’m an academic librarian by trade. I live in Oregon with my wife, two kids, and an ever-expanding number of animals (the current count is 3 rabbits, 5 chickens, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and an indeterminate number of fish).
I was born in England, although I’ve lived in the United States since around 1990. Places I’ve lived include Coulsdon (UK), Scarborough (UK), South Carolina, 金沢市 and 豊田市 (Japan), and Long Beach and Rancho Palos Verdes (Los Angeles metro area). I’ve lived in Oregon (within the traditional homelands of the Luckiamute Band of Kalapuya) since 2013 — although if anyone asks, I’ll usually say I’m from the Internet.
Other things I’m into include Japanese language and literature (I’ve studied both, including academically, since about 1999), haiku and associated forms of poetry, open access, linguistics and language learning (Welsh, as well as Japanese), history and historiography, and nerdy academic topics in general. I also love a good graphic novel.
